Economic and Tourism Impact
The Butte Creek Mill has been at the center of the economy in Eagle Point and Southern Oregon since 1872. In the late 1800s and early 1900s, it was a busy pit stop for farmers and community members. Since the fire at the end of 2015, Eagle Point has seen a significant reduction in tourism in the area. Not only were jobs lost due to the fire, people were no longer able to get the healthy products that they had become accustomed to. With the restoration and reopening of the Butte Creek Mill, the economy of Eagle Point will once again thrive as it has for over a century.
