Moving beyond the classroom, bringing the past and the future together, the Butte Creek Mill has been hosting students on field trips from schools all over Southern Oregon. Children have arrived in Eagle Point to learn how something that grows in the field becomes something quite extraordinary – possibly even a loaf of bread. They have learned of the power of Little Butte Creek to produce the energy to turn the wheat into flour. As the Mill enters a new chapter in its life cycle, it will continue to open its doors to Oregon’s youth and educate them in the role that history plays to our future.
