Buttermilk Biscuits

Serves: 2 dozen biscuits.
Ingredients
- 2 cups Buttermilk Biscuit Mix
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 5 tablespoons shortening
Instructions
- Sift Biscuit Mix and soda; cut in shortening till mixture resembles course crumbs.
- Add buttermilk, all at once, and stiff till dough follows fork around the bowl.
- Turn out and knead 1/2 minute.
- Roll 3/8 inch thick; brush with salad oil; fold over and cut double biscuits.
- Bake on ungreased cookie sheet in 450° oven 12 to 15 minutes.
