Mike Hawkins

Mike Hawkins was born in Indiana. His family moved out west, finally settling in the Medford area in his senior year of high school. He earned a degree in elementary education, but ended up working at the Mill in 1988 under the Crandall’s ownership. He continued working under the Russell’s ownership until the mill burned down. Christmas Day of 2015. He then moved to Portland to be near his kids and worked for Bob’s Red Mill for six years grinding flour. After retirement, marriage to Karen Whittington brought him back to Eagle Point.

Mike now brings his 28 years of experience milling back to the Butte Creek Mill as our Miller. When not working at the mill, he might be found strumming his guitar, kayaking, or hiking.
